Nokia recently expanded its
range of low-end Asha handset models by introducing Nokia Asha 500, Asha 502
and Asha 503 models, which are expected have a great potential in the Indian
market.
While Nokia Asha
500 and Asha
502 models have been available in the Indian market for a while now for around Rs. 4,499
and Rs. 5,969 respectively, the firm has finally let Nokia
Asha 503 hit the shelves. While Nokia had earlier announced a price tag of Rs. 6,799 for the Asha
503, the phone can now be ordered from Nokia's website for Rs. 6,683 in Black, White, Yellow
and Red colour variants.
Introduced in October 2013 at the Nokia World event,
the Nokia Asha 503 operates on Asha platform 1.2, which is an update to Asha
Platform 1.1 running on Asha 500 and Asha 502 handsets. The device also
includes a Swipe user interface and features a 3-inch QVGA (240x320) resolution
display mounted by a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection. It sports a 5-megapixel
rear camera with LED flash.
Much
like Asha 500 and Asha 502, the Asha 503 is also dual-SIM device (in India at
least) with dual standby support. It comes with 64MB RAM and supports
expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card. The connectivity options
include 3G, a Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 with SLAM and FM Radio.
The
Asha 503 packs an 1110mAh battery which can deliver up to 12 hours of talk time
and up to 480 hours of standby time. The handset also features the updated
Fastlane app, which was introduced in Asha 501, one-swipe access to camera app
and one-touch sharing feature on Whatsapp.
