miss this match

Hit: Bhuvneshwar sets the tone

Bhuvneshwar Kumar may not have picked any wickets but his contribution was probably the best for India with the ball. Dot balls are the key in the format and Bhuvneshwar bowled 15 of them right at the top. What's more? He did it against the explosive pair of Chris Gayle and Dwayne Smith. That performance quite literally swung the game in India's favour. Rating: 8/10

Hit: Mishra comes good again

Amit Mishra picked up his second Man of the Match award on the trot and was incisive in the middle overs. He picked two in two getting rid of the dangerous Samuels and Dwayne Bravo. He could have had Chris Gayle as well but for a dropped catch by Yuvraj. Figures of 2/18 in 4 overs got him a rating of 8/10as well.

Hit: Clinical Rohit takes India home

Rohit Sharma may not have scored at an explosive strike-rate but what he did well was stay right till the end. A confidence-boosting fifty helped India cruise in the chase and Rohit saw it through from start to end. Rating: 7/10

Miss: Smith in a hole

Dwayne Smith struggled to get bat to ball early on and his slow start cost West Indies dear. A strike-rate of 37 does not do justice to the talent he possesses but he was nothing short of woeful against India's accurate bowling. Rating: 2/10

Miss: Gayle force loses steam

It's not often that you see a team struggling with a poor run-rate with Chris Gayle out in the middle but that was the case against India. The southpaw still managed a strike-rate over 100 but failed to convert a start into a much bigger score. Scoring just 34 after batting for 33 balls right at the top denied West Indies the momentum and added pressure on the middle order. Rating: 4/10

Miss: Yuvraj Singh struggles for rhythm

Yuvraj Singh had a miserable outing in stark comparison to his team's fortunes. He dropped Chris Gayle but he was lucky that the burly left-hander did not make him pay. With the bat too Yuvraj was a pale impression of his imperious self. He managed just 10 from 19 balls when India were looking to improve on their net run-rate. He did not manage to see the chase through as well. Rating 4/10
