Build Up: India look to build on fine start
India, unlike what they are notorious for, made a fine start to a tournament where big things are expected of them, beating an experienced Pakistan side comfortably. They will be hoping to consolidate their position at the top of the table and give their morale a huge boost with another win against the defending champions.West Indies, on the other hand, will want their title-defence to start on the perfect note. With the swash-buckling Chris Gayle back in the side, and with a barrage of match-winners in the side there's no reason why they shouldn;t believe they can't.
Toss and Teams: Unchanged India opt to bowl
India won the toss and opted to bowl first. They went in with an unchanged side.India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni(w/c), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Amit Mishra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami
West Indies (Playing XI): Chris Gayle, Dwayne Smith, Marlon Samuels, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Bravo, Denesh Ramdin(w), Darren Sammy(c), Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Samuel Badree, Krishmar Santokie
Update: Slow start for Winides
The defending champions opted for a sedate approach as the Indian pacers extracted some good swing to trouble the batsmen. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, in particular, excelled as he bowled very few bad balls and kept the scoring to a minimum.Highlight: Sloppy India let Gayle off the hook
With the scoring just next to nothing, India had the perfect opportunity to tighten their grip with the wicket of the super-dangerous Chris Gayle. Shami Ahmed had the swash-buckling left-hander edge behind to first slip, but R Ashwin put down the regulation chance to grant Gayle a reprieve.India had another chance to redeem themselves, but this time the usually reliable Yuvraj Singh put down a skier off Amit Mishra. Gayle was granted his 2nd chance and the signs were ominous for India if they didn't get rid of the big-hitting Jamaican soon.
Wicket: Ashwin ends Smith's miserable stay
For someone who is often lauded as one of the most destructive batsmen in T20 today, Dwayne Smith was having a horrible outing with the bat. He was all at sea against the brilliance of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and he had only slowly inched his way to 11 off 28 balls. He finally lost his wicket to R Ashwin as the spinner held on to fine return catch to give India their first wicket.Update: West Indies struggle to get a move on
Even with the big-hitting Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels at the crease, West Indies struggled to up their score. The Indian spinners maintained superb discipline and the duo could not rotate the strike at will, meaning they had to take undue risks to up the score.

Wickets: Mishra piles on the misery with double blow
West Indies were already in deep trouble having lost Chris Gayle to a run-out, and the last thing they needed was for them to lose a few more wickets. India, on the other hand, hoped for exactly that. Amit Mishra delivered for India as he picked up the important wickets Marlon Samuels and Dwayne Bravo off consecutive deliveries to leave West Indies in deep trouble.Innings update: Jadeja takes wickets, but goes for plenty
West Indies' hopes of finishing their innings on a high received a minor boost as they were able to smash Ravindra Jadeja for plenty. The final over of the innings, bowled by Jadeja, went for a massive 21 runs as West Indies finished with a sub-par 129/7. Jadeja did manage to pick up 3 wickets but would have been disappointed at going for 48 runs in his 4 overs.
